In between lesson planning sessions as an English teacher, I am a writer. I earned my B.A. in English and Certificate in Creative Writing at Northern Arizona University; I earned my M.Ed. at Arizona State University.
Aside from education and remote living, my previous positions in hotels and funeral homes also inform my work. In my poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, I strive for realism while also trying to capture the idiosyncrasies of emotion. I always have an eye out for the uncanny and off-beat. I live with my husband and our dogs in a small Arizona town. I love a good ghost story and I hate dry monsoons.
I am represented by Em Lysaght at Ladderbird Literary Agency.
« La parole humaine est comme un chaudron fêlé où nous battons des mélodies à faire danser les ours, quand on voudrait attendrir les étoiles. »
“Human speech is like a cracked kettle on which we beat out melodies to make the bears dance, when we really want to touch the hearts of the stars.”
